LLB Course


A Bachelor of Laws, also known as an LLB, is a three-year degree programme. The law-related degree programme "LLB" was designed to offer both a basic and advanced syllabus of law. The programme is designed to provide legal professional studies in the subject's mainstream. Students can also get LLB admissions in specialisations they want to pursue as a career. LLB programmes are six semesters long and include core & elective subjects.

LLB admission is available either directly or by passing an entrance test. Fees for the LLB degree programme range from INR 10,000 to INR 85,000. Deposits can be made using a credit card, a debit card, or any other method that the institutions provide.


What is an LLB Course?

The primary goal of the LLB course is to help students develop abilities such as problem-solving techniques, communication abilities, and judgement. Several successful law schools offer a variety of law programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. One of the most important considerations here is that law schools must be regulated as well as properly monitored by the Bar Council of India (BCI).


The Bar Council of India recognises over 1200 law colleges in India (BCI). These colleges provide law programmes at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Several prestigious national universities, including Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Symbiosis Law School, and others.




LLB Admission Process

Entrance exams are usually held for LLB admission. However, some colleges offer merit-based admission in some cases, but then in order to apply for LLB course, an applicant must meet the eligibility requirements, which are listed below.

Based on Merit

Universities such as Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU), SRM University, and a few others generate their own cut off lists, and students who meet the necessary requirements are eligible for LLB admission.


Entrance Exam

Some law colleges, such as Delhi University, Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Symbiosis International, Osmania University, and others, takes entrance exams for their LLB admission, such as CLAT, AILET, SET SLAT, LSAT, TS LAWCET, DU LLB, AP LAWCET, and so on.


    LLB Admission Eligibility Criteria

    Following are eligibility criteria for LLB admission:


    • Students who pursue LLB admission must have at least 45% marks in their graduation and must pass the LLB entrance exam.

    • SC/ST candidates are given a 5% marks relaxation.

    • If you already have a degree (in any field from any course), students can get an LLB admission for three years by passing the necessary entrance exams.

    • There is no age limit for LLB admission in India.


      LLB Admission Documents Required

      Following are the documents required for LLB admission:


      • Mark sheet of class 10th (Photocopy)

      • Mark sheet of class 12th (Photocopy)

      • Graduation Marksheet (Photocopy)

      • Board's Admit Card Number

      • Passport Size Photos

      • Valid ID Proof (such as an Aadhaar card, driver's licence, PAN card, voter identity card, passport)

      • Caste certificate

      • Disability certificate (if applicant is of PwD category)

      • Character Certificate
